About
Worthing Pier is a historic landmark on the Sussex coast, extending into the English Channel. Built in 1862, the pier showcases striking Art Deco architecture, an amusement arcade, and a cafe, and hosts various events year-round. It offers expansive views of the coastline and sea, making it a favourite place for locals and visitors alike.
Dog-Friendly Policies
Dogs are welcome on Worthing Pier. Please keep your dog on a lead and under control to ensure a pleasant experience for everyone.
The pier’s open-air areas are ideal for strolling with your dog and admiring the views.
Things To See & Do
Relish a leisurely walk along the length of the pier, taking in the panoramic views of the sea and the coastline.
Benches line the pier, letting you rest with your dog while enjoying the scenery and watching life unfold. The fresh sea breeze and calm waves create a peaceful setting.
After your stroll on the pier, visit the nearby beach. While the area near the pier has seasonal rules, sections of Worthing Beach remain dog-friendly year-round, allowing your dog to play and explore freely.
n winter, the pier attracts striking starling murmurations. Just before dusk, starlings gather inland before gliding onto the roof at the pier’s end, then soar in twisting patterns before dropping beneath the pier to roost overnight. You can view them from the beach, but based on our visit, I recommend waiting on the pier itself, as you get to see them up close and moving under the pier.
