Porthleven Beach

Porthleven Beach is next to the harbour and near the village centre.

Porthleven Beach is separated from the harbour by the granite pier in front of the Porthleven Institute and clock tower. When the tide is out, it is possible to walk in an easterly direction along the beach for approximately three miles, past Loe Bar and the Penrose Estate. At high tide, the beach disappears, and you can walk along the coast path out of the village with the Porthleven beach below you.

The west part of Porthleven Beach has seasonal dog restrictions, not allowing dogs from 1st July to 31st August between 10 am – 6 pm. Whilst the east end allows dogs year-round, please check local signs for the east vs. west boundary mark.

From the beach, it is a short walk along the harbour to the village centre, where you have parking, shops and a selection of cafes and pubs.
