Poole has 3 miles of sea-facing sandy beach stretching from the harbour entrance and joining with Bournemouth in the east. Travelling eastwards from the harbour entrance, you have Sandbanks Beach, Shore Road Beach, Canford Cliffs Beach and Branksome Chine Beach.

Poole Beaches have a seasonal dog ban from the 1st of May to the 30th of September with the exception of the following dog-friendly areas:

  • Sandbanks Beach has a designated dog beach area at the western end of Sandbanks Beach to Haven Point (by the chain ferry).
  • Branksome Chine Beach does allow dogs all year eastwards between the Branksome Chine Beach office to the  Alum Chine Beach Office, Bournemouth.

Dogs must be kept on the lead on all promenades and footpaths at all times.

The whole Poole seafront is designed for beach visitors with multiple car parks, toilet facilities and places to eat and drink.

To the west of the harbour, you have the amazing dog-friendly Studland Bay Beach, which can be accessed by the chain ferry.
