The hotel is on the banks of Loch Awe, in the village of Portsonachan, close to Inverary and Dalmally. Dogs are not allowed in the hotel but are welcome in the lodges and apartments.

Dog-friendly accommodation is available in the coach house rooms, the lochside apartments, and the woodland lodges.
Dog bowls, treats, and toys are available upon request for your furry friends.
Please note that a maximum of two dogs is allowed per room, and they must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.

You can enjoy some good walking around Loch Awe, with tranquil lochside paths, forests and hills ideal for peaceful walks and wildlife spotting. Day trips are easy to classic west‑coast towns such as Oban and Fort William. From the hotel, you can also explore historic highlights, including Inveraray Castle, St Conan’s Kirk on the loch shore, Kilmartin Glen’s standing stones and Inveraray Jail Museum for an insight into Scotland’s past.
There are several “big day out” options: tours to Glencoe and Loch Lomond for dramatic mountain and loch vistas. Nature lovers can head to Taynish National Nature Reserve and take wildlife boat trips such as Sealife Adventures to spot seals, seabirds and other marine life. For scenic journeys, you have the famous West Highland Line railway, as well as ferry links to the Isle of Mull for island scenery and beaches.
