Aberystwyth’s Royal Pier was the first pleasure pier to open in Wales in 1865. Today’s pier is short at 91 metres (300 ft), as storm damage over the years has reduced it from its original length 242 metres (794 ft).

During the day, friendly, well-behaved dogs are allowed on the Piers decking area and nominated zones at the Inn on the Pier, Upstairs Bar and Pier Garden.
