About
Visiting Kenneggy Sands Beach with your dog is a fantastic choice for a quieter, more secluded beach experience in Cornwall. Kenneggy Sands is a beautiful, lesser-known beach between Praa Sands and Bessy’s Cove. It offers stunning scenery with its mixture of sandy stretches and rocky outcrops, making it an ideal spot for those looking to escape the more crowded beaches.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome at Kenneggy Sands throughout the year, making it a great beach for owners. The lack of restrictions allows for freedom and enjoyment regardless of the season.
Things To See & Do
Kenneggy Sands is hard to access, which helps keep the crowds away and provides a more tranquil beach experience. This seclusion makes it perfect for a peaceful, all-be-it adventurous day out with your dog, where you can both enjoy the space and quiet.
The beach is picturesque, with dramatic cliffs and clear waters. It’s an excellent spot for swimming, sunbathing, and exploring rock pools at low tide. The natural surroundings make it a beautiful place for photography and nature watching.
Access and Facilities
There is no direct parking close to the beach. The nearest parking is a small one at Bessy’s Cove, from which it’s a short walk down to the beach.
Access to Kenneggy Sands is somewhat challenging. This area suffers from coastal erosion, and access used to be via steep steps. Now, you can access the beach with a rock scramble from neighbouring Coules Cove at low tide.
There are no facilities at Kenneggy Sands, such as lifeguard services, cafes, or toilets. You must bring everything you might need for the day, including water and snacks for you and your dog.
The beach is largely tide-dependent, with much of the sand covered at high tide. It’s essential to check tide times before you visit to ensure you have plenty of beach to explore and that rising waters don’t cut you off.
