Praa Sands Beach is a big sandy beach roughly one mile long, backed by sand dunes and with rocky outcrops at either end. Praa Sands has seasonal dog restrictions, not allowing dogs from 1st July to 31st August between 10 am – 6 pm.

Praa Sands sits between two headlands which both offer some great dog walking opportunities along the southwest coast path. If you head westwards, you can visit Kenneggy Sands, an all-year dog-friendly beach. If you head eastwards, then Rinsey Head has a small cove.

Praa Sands offers a large car park cafe/restaurant, shops, slipway, toilets, campsite, caravan park, and seasonal lifeguards.

Praa Sands is a popular surfing beach on Cornwall’s south coast.
