Portheras Cove is a hard-to-find beach at the end of a valley between Pendeen and Morvah, and it is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall. Due to its off-the-beaten-track location, this beach remains an unspoilt Cornish gem.
As this is a remote cove with few visitors, seals are a common sight.

Access and Facilities
The beach has no facilities. Parking is at Pendeen Watch Lighthouse car park – roughly half a mile away, a 20-minute coastal path walk.

Portheras Cove sits below unstable cliffs, so you must take care when visiting, avoid the cliff edges and stay away from the cliff base when on the beach.
We recommend avoiding swimming, as there are no lifeguards and reports of strong undercurrents and sharp shipwreck debris.
