About
Great Bay Beach is a dog-friendly beach on the north coast of St Martins. Although we have listed this as Great Bay, you actually have a stretch of multiple dog-friendly bays and coves split by some rocky outcrops, with great sandy beaches backed by sand dunes. This collection of beaches is sometimes referred to as St Martin’s Bay, and you have, from the south, Wine Cove, Great Bay, Little Bay, and The Cove beaches. At the northern point, you have a sandbar that leads from The Cove to White Island.
Out in the bay, you have a few rocks: Little Merrick Ledge, Great Merrick Ledge and Anthony.
This is an unspoilt part of St Martin’s coast, which, due to the sheltered beach, is great for swimming and snorkelling, although you will not find any facilities.
