About
Tucked between Looe and Polperro, Talland Bay Beach offers a quiet retreat from the busier beaches. With rock pools, coastal walks, and stunning views, it’s a wonderful place to let your dog explore while you enjoy the fresh sea air.
Dog Access and Rules
Talland Bay is dog-friendly all year round, although dogs must be on a lead between Easter and October 1st.
Things To See & Do
Talland Bay has two shingle beaches in a sheltered cove. The bay feels like a secluded haven surrounded by cliffs.
At low tide, areas of sand and rock pools appear perfect for curious dogs to explore, although, at high tide, you have the shingle and rocks, making it difficult for dogs. The water here is calm and clear, ideal for a quick paddle if your dog enjoys splashing around.
The South West Coast Path offers cliff-top walks. A stroll towards Polperro or Looe provides breathtaking views and the chance to discover hidden coves.
Access and Facilities
Getting to Talland Bay is relatively easy, though the narrow Cornish lanes may require careful navigation. The beach is about a 10-minute drive from Polperro or 15 minutes from Looe, with a small pay-and-display car park near the beach.
The nearest train station is in Looe, with bus services running to Polperro. You can walk the South West Coast Path to reach Talland Bay from there, but it’s a fair trek.
The Talland Bay Beach Cafe is dog-friendly if you want a light lunch or takeaway.
