Allonby beach is a great shingle and sand dog-friendly beach. At low tide, the beach has a large sand area that joins with other beaches.

The area is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and dogs should be on a short lead between 1 March and 31 July to protect nesting birds at the high water marks.

Facilities at the beach include car parks, toilets, shops, camping and caravan sites.
