About
Allonby Beach is a great, dog-friendly shingle-and-sand beach. At low tide, the beach has a large sandy area that connects to other beaches, giving you close to 5 miles to explore.
The beach is located on the 150 miles (240 km) Cumbria Coastal Way long-distance footpath.
Dog Access and Rules
Allonby Beach is dog-friendly all year round, but as the area is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), dogs should be kept on a short lead between 1 March and 31 July to protect nesting birds at the high-water mark.
Access and Facilities
Facilities at the beach include car parks, toilets, shops, camping and caravan sites.
