About
Roanhead Beach is a sandy beach with large dunes and grassland three miles north of Barrow-in-Furness. The beach is dog-friendly but the areas within the National Trust Sandscale Haws Nature Reserve have restrictions and dogs should be kept on leads.
Strong currents make the beach unsuitable for swimming, but the sand dunes and coastal scenery are very good.
Car parking and seasonal toilets at the Sandscale Haws Nature Reserve car park.
