About
The Peacock at Rowsley is a refined, historic hotel‑restaurant on the River Derwent that does accept dogs. However, with tighter restrictions than many country inns, it suits calm, well‑behaved dogs and owners looking for a more luxurious base rather than a casual dog pub.
Rowsley sits between Bakewell and Matlock, and is superb for riverside and valley walks, along with visits to Chatsworth House.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome, up to 2 dogs per room, with an additional fee per dog. Dogs must not be left alone in rooms, must stay on a lead or in a carrier when outside the bedroom, and are not allowed on hotel furniture.
Dogs are allowed in the bar and gardens, although they are not permitted in dining rooms.
We suggest you confirm the current dog policy, fees, and accessible areas at the time of booking to ensure they meet your expectations and are suitable for your dog(s).
