About
If you’re searching for a picture-perfect, dog-friendly beach away from the crowds, Maceley Cove and Elender Coves might be your spot. Both of the beaches at these coves are small sandy beaches sitting under cliffs with some rocks at the high water mark.
Dog Access and Rules
Maceley Cove and Elender Cove are dog-friendly beaches all year round. However, take care when accessing, as it is a steep decline from the cliff path above to the beach.
Things To See & Do
The beaches at Maceley and Elender Coves are small, and you need to judge the tide well. Get it wrong, and you will have no sand. These are enjoyable little coves to stop at while walking along this stretch of Devon coastline. High cliffs shelter them, offering a pleasant sandy beach with opportunities for your dog to play in the calm water or sniff around the rocks.
Access and Facilities
Maceley and Elender Coves are accessible by car. There is ample parking down a narrow single-track lane at Prawle Point, just a 15- 20-minute walk from the beaches.
This is a remote location, and you have no facilities other than the car park.
