About
Thurlestone Sands combines with South Milton Sands to form one large beach with fine shingle sand and sheltered waters. At high tide, the beach is much narrower but still accessible.
These two beaches are very much the beach that time forgot, a family beach for traditional beach activities and games; just relax and play amongst the rock pools.
Just off the beach is Thurlestone Rock, a natural arc that gives the town its name.
Dog Access and Rules
Both Thurlestone Sands and South Milton Sands are year-round dog-friendly beaches with no seasonal restrictions. Occasionally, a south-westerly swell produces big surf, so be wary with dogs.

Access and Facilities
Facilities are mainly at the southern tip, with a National Trust car park, a cafe, shops, toilets, and lifeguards in the summer.
Thurlestone at the northern end also has car parking.
