Dog Access and Rules

Things To See & Do
This historic site dates back to the bronze age but is most known for the prominent hill fort during the Iron Age. The fort once served as a strategic defence point, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, which provided a vantage point against potential invaders. Over the centuries, various communities have inhabited it, adding layers of historical significance.
Badbury Rings is one of only a few chalk downlands in Dorset. It is a haven for many species of wild orchids, butterflies, birds, and more.
Today, visitors can explore this ancient site and grasslands, and the hill fort’s elevation offers great panoramic views of Dorset’s countryside.
