About
Skipsea Sands sits quietly on the East Riding coast, tucked between Hornsea and Bridlington, and it’s one of those places that feels a bit forgotten in the best possible way. Skipsea beach is a narrow, 2km-long beach backed by cliffs. Skipsea’s rural location makes this beach ideal for those looking for a quieter, crowd-free, dog-friendly spot.6
If you fancy exploring, you can head north towards Fraisthorpe or south towards Hornsea, though the route is available depending on the tide.
Dog Access and Rules
There are no restrictions; dogs are allowed on the beach all year.
Access and Facilities
Access points change over time due to erosion, so it’s good to check where the safe steps or paths are when you arrive. The village of Skipsea has a few lanes that lead towards the coast, but not all offer beach access anymore, as you will see a lot of signs, “Cliff Collapse Road Closed”. Most dog walkers use the signed paths near the caravan parks.
Facilities are located in and around the holiday parks.
