About
Knebworth House is a stunning historic estate in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. It offers the perfect combination of history, nature, and adventure. Known for its gorgeous gardens, sprawling parkland, and iconic Tudor-Gothic architecture, it’s an excellent day out for dog owners looking to explore. However, you are restricted to only the park.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome in the Knebworth Park grounds, but they must always be kept on a lead to protect the park’s local wildlife and animals. While dogs aren’t allowed inside Knebworth House itself or in the gardens or Adventure Playground, there are plenty of outdoor spaces for you to enjoy together.
Things To See & Do
Knebworth House is renowned for its Tudor-Gothic architecture, with turrets, gargoyles, and centuries of history. The house has been home to the Lytton family for over 500 years and has 28 acres of formal gardens.
The more expansive Knebworth Park, where dogs are allowed, covers over 250 acres of picturesque countryside. It features plenty of open fields, ancient oak trees, a deer park, and rolling landscapes. Several walking trails are perfect for stretching your legs and enjoying the scenery with views of the house from afar.
Access and Facilities
Knebworth House is conveniently located just off the A1(M) motorway, making it easily accessible by car. There’s plenty of on-site parking, and the estate is well-signposted. The nearest train station is Knebworth Station, a 5-minute taxi ride away, with regular services from London and Cambridge.
