About
The Newborough Forest and Warren is a National Nature Reserve, one of Anglesey’s treasures, combining diverse habitats and stunning landscapes. This lovely reserve with miles of trails offers a mix of forest, expansive dunes, beaches and scenic coastline, making it the perfect place for a day of exploration with your dog.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome in the reserve and forest throughout the year, providing ample opportunities to visit in any season. Be mindful of the local wildlife and keep your dog on a lead in sensitive areas, especially during nesting seasons.
If you wander onto the beach, seasonal restrictions are on the western end by the island.
Things To See & Do
The nature reserve is bordered on two sides by rivers: to the southeast by the Afon Braint and the northwest by the Afon Cefni. It includes Llanddwyn Bay and Malltraeth Bay, divided by Llanddwyn Island, and is part of the Anglesey Coastal Path.
Wander through the beautiful Newborough Forest, with its network of trails. Your dog will love the fresh forest scents and the chance to explore the varied terrain. To protect the natural environment and wildlife, stick to the marked trails and keep your dog under control.
Combine your forest adventure with a trip to Llanddwyn and Malltraeth Beaches. Let your dog run on the sand and splash in the waves.
