Aberffraw Bay, or Traeth Mawr Beach, is a large, dog-friendly sandy bay with sand dunes and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
The beach is somewhat remote, so it doesn’t get too busy. To reach the beach, take a half-mile walk across the dunes or alongside the River Ffraw, which enters the sea at the top end of the beach. If you start in Aberffraw, walk on the far side of the river.

Access and Facilities
No facilities at the beach itself. Parking is on the roads within or just outside Aberffraw, whilst the village has a shop, a pub and a small dog-friendly cafe. The roads can be narrow, so if you park on the verge, leave room for others and larger farm vehicles.
