Porth Dafarch Beach has a seasonal dog ban running from the 1st of May to the 30th of September.
Things To See & Do
Porth Dafarch is a remote location well away from the crowds.
- Beach Walks: Although the beach has a seasonal dog ban, from October to the end of April, enjoy a stroll along the sandy beach with your dog. The open space is perfect for letting your dog off-lead to run and play, especially during low tide when more of the beach is exposed.
- The Anglesey Coastal Path runs near Porth Dafarch, offering stunning views of the sea and cliffs. This path is ideal for a longer, scenic walk with your dog, especially during the summer when the beach is out of reach.
- Rock Pools and Cliffs: Explore the rock pools and cliffs around the bay. These areas are fascinating for your dog to investigate, with plenty of interesting scents and sights.

A car park with toilets close to Porth Dafarch Beach provides convenient access.
While Porth Dafarch doesn’t have many amenities, nearby Holyhead or Trearddur Bay offers several dog-friendly cafes and pubs where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.
