The surrounding area is rich in history and natural beauty. You’re just a short drive from the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, Canterbury’s medieval town, and Deal’s quaint seaside village. Closer to the farmhouse, you’ll discover a network of countryside footpaths perfect for leisurely dog walks.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are warmly welcomed at Alkham Court Farmhouse, making it an excellent choice for pet owners. However, this is a small B&B, and only one of the rooms is dog-friendly, so you will need to plan ahead.

For coastal adventures, head to the White Cliffs of Dover, where you and your dog can enjoy cliff-top walks with sweeping views of the English Channel. Alternatively, visit Samphire Hoe, a nature reserve created from the Channel Tunnel excavations, which offers a flat, dog-friendly walking trail along the sea.
If you’re up for a day trip, Shakespeare Beach and parts of St Margaret’s Bay are dog-friendly and perfect for a seaside stroll. After your walk, unwind at the farmhouse with a cup of tea in the garden while your dog rests after their adventures.
Access and Facilities
Alkham Court Farmhouse is easily accessible by car. It is just off the A20 and a short drive from Dover. There is plenty of on-site parking available for guests.
Due to its rural location, public transport options are more limited, but the nearest train stations are in Dover and Folkestone, both of which are a 15–20-minute taxi ride from the farmhouse.
