Dog Access and Rules
The Whitstable Oyster Company owns a large part of Whitstable Beach. Although it is officially privately owned, the public can use the beach, and the company does not ban dogs at any time of year.
Things To See & Do
Whitstable’s coastline is primarily made up of shingle and pebble beaches, interspersed with wooden groynes. These beaches are ideal for leisurely walks with your dog, offering beautiful views of the sea and sailing boats.
Whitstable Harbour is a bustling spot filled with fresh seafood stalls and eateries. While dogs may not be allowed inside some of the food areas, there are plenty of places nearby where you can enjoy the atmosphere together.
There is a promenade that runs along the beach, suitable for a relaxed stroll. For more adventurous walkers and their dogs, the Saxon Shore Way extends in both directions from Whitstable, offering extensive coastal walks.
Access and Facilities
Whitstable is well-served by several public car parks close to the beach. Street parking is also available, though it can be busy, especially during summer weekends and public holidays.
A great selection of seafood restaurants, renowned oysters, a pub on the beach, and a good range of cafes make Whitstable a delight for foodies.
