About
Fleetwood Beach sits quietly at the top end of the Fylde coast, tucked just above Blackpool, with views north towards Morecambe Bay. You don’t come here for rollercoasters or karaoke bars. You come for the open sky, the sea air, and the wide, flat beach where your dog can leg it for miles.
Dog Access and Rules
Fleetwood Beach has seasonal dog restrictions on the main beach area between 1 May and 30 September each year. As you head westwards and then south, you have dog-friendly stretches like Rossall Beach.
Things To See & Do
The beach is a big, open stretch with sand, shells, and bits of driftwood. When the tide goes out, it provides proper space for throwing the ball or mooching in the shallows, and when the tide is in, you have a wide promenade.
There’s the old boating lake just up from the beach. Dogs can’t go in, but walking around the edge’s fine. You’ve also got the lovely little Marine Hall Gardens across the road, mostly grass and flowers, but a nice place to sit with a sandwich.
You can take a walk between Fleetwood and the beach at Cleveleys.
Access and Facilities
Fleetwood’s easy enough to reach by car. From the M55, follow the A585 into town. There’s plenty of parking along the seafront.
A tram runs from Blackpool to Fleetwood, and dogs are allowed on it. Dead handy if you fancy a day out but can’t be bothered with traffic. You’ll find benches, some ice cream huts, and a few cafes along the prom.
Toilets are dotted about, but the best bet is near the boating lake.
