A large public car park is at the top of the village, from where you can walk a half-mile (ish) down to the harbour and beach. The village’s narrow, steep streets mean parking close to the beach is limited, so it’s best to park at the top and enjoy the scenic walk down. For those using public transport, regular buses connect Staithes with nearby towns like Whitby.
While Staithes Beach is a natural, uncommercialised area, the village offers a range of facilities. There are several dog-friendly cafes, pubs, and restaurants where you can enjoy a meal or a drink. Public toilets are available near the harbour, and plenty of benches and spots exist to sit and take in the views.
