About
Visiting Llyfn Beach with your dog is a fantastic way to enjoy one of the more secluded and beautiful spots along the Pembrokeshire Coast in Wales. Llyfn Beach, known for its dramatic cliffs and remote setting, offers a peaceful escape from more crowded beaches, making it a great choice for a day out with your canine companion.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are allowed on Llyfn Beach throughout the year without any restrictions. This makes it a wonderful destination for dog owners regardless of the season.
Things To See & Do
Llyfn Beach is nestled between high cliffs and is accessible only by a steep set of metal steps, adding to its secluded feel. The beach is known for its striking natural beauty and is a part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The beach itself features fine sand and clear waters, ideal for dogs who love to run and splash. It’s perfect for a quiet day of relaxation and exploration. However, due to strong currents and undertow, and no lifeguards, you need to be careful when swimming.
Access and Facilities
A few parking options exist at either Porthgain and walk, Abereiddy and walk or at Barry Island Farm (permission of farmer, charge for parking) down private road and dirt track.
Access to the beach is a descent via steep steps, and for some, this will not be possible with a dog.
Since the beach’s remote location means there are no facilities, bring all necessary supplies including fresh water for you and your dog, snacks, and dog waste bags.
