About
The Wellington in Brecon is a central, dog‑friendly pub and hotel on the main square, opposite the Duke of Wellington Monument. The pub is a few minutes’ walk from the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and Riverside paths, so it pairs well after a dog walk.
Being right on the square, it has a town‑centre feel, with locals, walkers, cyclists, and people staying in the hotel upstairs.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are allowed in the bar and beer garden, but not in the restaurant section.
Dogs are not allowed in rooms, so an overnight stay is not possible.
What's On Offer
The Wellington offers a broad pub menu: classic mains, burgers, small plates and desserts, with vegetarian and vegan choices, plus a children’s menu. On the drinks side, you’ll find cask ales, lagers, ciders and a standard range of wines and soft drinks.
Access and Facilities
There’s no on‑site parking; use nearby town car parks or on‑street bays with a short walk to the square.
