Things To See & Do
Llantwit Major Beach is a pebbly and rocky beach at the end of a valley where the river Afon Col-huw meets the sea. It stretches for a long way in either direction and is backed by cliffs. There are good beach walks, and you can explore rock pools teeming with marine life at low tide. Your dog will love splashing around while you investigate.
The beach is a hotspot for beachcombing and fossil enthusiasts. There are opportunities to discover fossils on the shoreline and below the cliffs. However, you must be careful, as the cliffs can be loose and have falling rocks.
Llantwit Major is a good starting point for dog walking. The Wales Coast Path passes through the beach and offers dramatic views of the cliffs and sea.
