About
Derbyhaven Beach lies within a sheltered, shallow bay and is protected by St Michael’s Island, also known as Fort Island.
Derbyhaven Beach, an area of special scientific interest, provides feeding and roosting habitats for migrating and breeding birds. This means it is not an ideal beach to visit with dogs, and they must always be kept on leads.
Dog Access and Rules
Derbyhaven Beach is a designated bird sanctuary and marine reserve, so dogs should be kept under control on leads at all times.
