About
Lantic Bay is in south-east Cornwall, a sheltered cove under the cliffs with sand and fine shingle.
You do need to be careful on the beach, as the currents can be strong, and as the tide comes in, some beach areas can get cut off.
This is a great dog-friendly Cornish beach on the South West Coast Path, offering excellent walking and beach time. Walk east towards Polperro for rugged headlands and quiet coves, or you can head west to Polruan, just over 2 miles, and ferry to Fowey for harbourside cafes, shops and St Catherine’s Castle.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome all year round at Lantic Bay.
There may be livestock in the fields and headland, so please stick to the footpaths and be ready with leads.
Access and Facilities
Lantic Bay has no local facilities, but parking is available at the nearby National Trust car park (free for members). The walk to the beach starts across fields from the car park, but the final descent is steep and can be slippery, so care should be taken.
