About
Cardoness Castle is a fine example of a Scottish tower house, built in the late 1400s as the fortified residence of the McCullochs. The Castle stands atop a steep hill overlooking Fleet Bay and the Solway of Firth.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are allowed at Cardoness Castle, but are not permitted in roofed areas. Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites and within roofed areas.
Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended. Owners must pick up after their dogs.
Things To See & Do
As dogs are not allowed inside, there are not many grounds to explore. The best bet would be to take it in turns exploring inside whilst others are with the dog in the grounds.
Access and Facilities
The castle has seasonal opening hours, and you should check the website for more information.
