At Calshot Beach, there’s plenty to keep both you and your dog entertained. The long stretch of shingle beach is perfect for a relaxing walk, where your dog can explore the shoreline and maybe even dip their paws into the Solent’s waters.
For more active days, Calshot Activity Centre, located nearby, offers a range of water sports and other activities (though these are mainly for humans rather than dogs!).
Access and Facilities
Calshot Beach is easy to reach by car or public transport. If you’re driving, it’s about 15 miles south of Southampton, with clear signage directing you to the beach. There’s ample parking available right by the shore, so you won’t have to worry about a long walk with all your beach gear.
The nearest train stations are Southampton Central and Totton for those travelling via public transport. From there, you can catch a local bus to Calshot Beach, but it’s best to check the timetable in advance as services can be limited.
Calshot Beach offers a variety of facilities, there are public toilets available near the car park, along with dog waste bins conveniently placed around the beach and promenade. The area also features several cafes and kiosks where you can grab a snack or a drink, many of which have outdoor seating that welcomes dogs.
