Things To See & Do
Staffin Bay is famous for its prehistoric significance. It is renowned for its dinosaur footprints, which can be seen at low tide, making it a great beach and one steeped in history. Nearby, you’ll also find the Quiraing, a dramatic landscape that adds to the area’s awe-inspiring feel.
A visit to Staffin Bay offers plenty of opportunities for your dog to stretch its legs. The beach, known as An Corran, is large enough to give your dog ample room to run and play. At lower tide levels, there is a lot of sand, but near the high water park, there are more pebbles and rocky areas.
You can also explore the coast and cliffs, which provide great views over the bay. The dinosaur footprints are a fascinating find for history lovers, making for a fun and educational walk with your dog.
Access and Facilities
Staffin Bay is easily accessible by car. It’s about a 25-minute drive from Portree, Skye’s largest town. There’s car parking near the beach along the road or by the harbour pier, from where it’s a short walk to the beach itself.
The bay is rural, and although there are plenty of houses and holiday accommodations, there are no facilities.
