About
Porth Trwyn beach is a quiet bay with no development away from the crowds. This dog-friendly beach is sandy with a high tide line of pebbles backed by some sand dunes. You also have a small hidden part of this beach, a small cove at the northern point. But, in general this beach does never get busy due to the lack of facilities and limited parking.
Dog Access and Rules
Porth Trwyn Beach is dog-friendly all year round! There are no seasonal restrictions, meaning your dog can enjoy the sand and sea no matter the time of year.
Things To See & Do
Porth Trwyn is a small but stunning sandy beach between rugged headlands and grassy dunes. Its tranquil setting away from the crowds and shallow waters makes it an excellent place for dogs to run, paddle, and explore.
If you fancy exploring further, Church Bay and Cemlyn Bay are nearby dog-friendly beaches worth visiting.
Access and Facilities
Porth Trwyn is near Llanfaethlu on Anglesey’s northwest coast, just off the A5025. It’s around 25 minutes from Holyhead and 40 minutes from Bangor. There is limited parking near the beach, just a small loose stone lot a short walk from the beach.
There are no toilets or facilities directly by the beach, so you must come prepared. The nearest facilities are back up the road to Llanfaethlu or along the coast to Church Bay (Porth Swtan).
