About
The beach at Greatstone has some stones but large, relatively flat sand and stretches from north to south for over two miles, backed by dunes., you can walk up to half a mile to the sea at low tide.
Greatstone Beach has seasonal restrictions in place between the 1st of May and the 30th of September. This is not the whole beach, so you must check local signage indicating where dogs cannot be walked.
The beach stretches south to Dungeness Point, and dogs can run freely once away from Greatstone. Greatstone Dunes, which back the beach, are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSI) with many rare species of plants.
You need to be aware this stretch of coast and beach is also popular with horse riders and beach buggies, so you may need to keep an eye on your dog, and if they tend to chase, you may need to be on a lead.
Facilities include a car park, public toilets, pubs and shops opposite the car park.
