About
St Mary’s Bay Beach, located on the beautiful Romney Marsh near Folkestone in Kent, is an excellent destination for a day out with your dog. Here’s what you can expect when visiting St Mary’s Bay Beach with your dog:
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are prohibited on St Mary’s Bay Beach from 1st May to 30th September between The Fairway to the east of High Knocke car park and the river outfall at Jesson Rock Groyne.
This does mean you have access to some beach areas all year round and good promenade walks on a lead.
Things To See & Do
St Mary’s Bay Beach features a long and wide stretch of sand divided by groynes. When the tide is in the higher part of the beach is more shingle than sand.
The beach is backed by a concrete promenade and some grass areas, which is useful when the tide is in.
Overall, this is a perfect beach for walking, playing, and relaxing, with ample room for your dog to run and explore.
Access and Facilities
The main car park with toilets is at High Knocke (TN29 0QR) on the east of St Mary’s Bay, and there is also a small parking area, although with no facilities, on Coast Drive (TN29 0HN) to the west.
