Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are allowed on the grounds if kept on a lead and in all areas, including Lake Walk, Woodland Walk, the jousting field, and rowing boats.
Dogs, except assistance dogs, are not allowed inside any buildings, including the castle, cafes, and shops. However, there are some marked exceptions within the grounds, such as the maze and children’s play areas.
Water bowls are provided at cafes and restaurants, and there is also outside seating.
Things To See & Do
The castle is within 125 acres of award-winning gardens, providing plenty of space for leisurely dog walks. The beautifully maintained gardens include Italian, rose, and Tudor gardens, all offering different landscapes to explore.
The 38-acre lake and its surrounding paths provide a scenic and tranquil environment for a longer walk. The lake walk is a highlight of the estate and offers beautiful views and wildlife.
Access and Facilities
Hever Castle is easily accessible by car and public transport. There is ample on-site parking, and the nearest train station is Hever, a pleasant one-mile walk from the castle. Edenbridge Town station is also nearby, although you will need a taxi to the castle.
The restaurant and cafe offer a range of refreshments and light meals. While dogs are not allowed inside the eating areas, outdoor seating is available for you to enjoy your food and drink with your dog by your side.
