About
Marton Mere Holiday Village is about ten minutes from Blackpool town centre, but it feels a bit off in its little bubble. It sits right by a nature reserve, which is great if your dog likes a proper sniff-about. It’s one of those spots where you can get a bit of both; the busy stuff at Blackpool is just down the road, but the park itself is calmer.
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead around the park. They’re not allowed in most indoor areas, including the main complex, pool, and eateries, although the main restaurant does have a dog-friendly terrace area.
What's On Offer
The holiday park has your usual holiday bits: a pool with a slide, splash zone, play areas, evening entertainment, an arcade, and a few restaurant options, including a decent fish and chip shop. There’s also a shop on site for snacks, milk, and last-minute dog treats.
The park has a bit of green where people take their dogs first thing in the morning. It’s not a formal dog park, but nobody seemed to mind.
Things To See & Do
Marton Mere Nature Reserve is right next to the park. You can walk straight into it from the holiday village, and it’s a peaceful retreat from the busy seaside promenades.
Blackpool is nearby for a visit, and you can drive or catch a bus from the park. We walked the North Pier end because the beach has fewer summer restrictions.
Stanley Park is also not far. It’s a lovely green space with a boating lake, a cafe (outside seating – dogs welcome), and wide paths through the trees.
Access and Facilities
If you’re driving, the easiest way is from the M55. Follow signs for Blackpool Zoo, then Marton Mere’s not far past that. Parking’s next to your caravan, so you don’t need to lug bags too far.
There’s a bus stop just outside the park entrance, with regular services into town.
