About
East Wittering Beach is a shingle shoreline at high tide but sandy at low tide. The beach is wide, so even on hot summer days, the beach feels emptier than it is, making it a great option rather than its busier neighbour of West Wittering Beach.
Shelving gently, this south coast beach has extensive shallows for the kids to paddle in at low tide, and the village of East Wittering is within walking distance with shops and other facilities.
Seasonal dog restrictions are in place. Dogs are prohibited between groynes A49 & S1 between May 1 and September 30. They must also be kept on lead on the sea wall.
Facilities include toilets, a small car park on Marine Drive, shops set back from the beach, and you can take a walk a couple of miles along the coast to nearby West Wittering Beach.
