Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is an excellent undeveloped coastal location for dog owners, where the South Downs meet chalk cliffs. Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the National Trust visitor centre, shop and outdoor seating and marked indoor cafe areas.

You have many choices here, with 500 acres of great cliff-top grassland walks, or you could explore the beach and rockpools below the chalk cliffs. Like all cliff beaches that suffer from erosion, after a high tide, it becomes a great fossil and beachcombing location.

Dogs on a lead are allowed on the beach, and please keep your dog on a lead around wildlife and livestock.

Just one word of caution, the area suffers from a lot of erosion and access to the beach may be restricted at short notice in bad weather or due to sudden cliff falls.

Facilities include car parking, toilets, visitor centre, shop and cafe. Pay and display parking, although National Trust members park for free.
