About
PK Porthcurno tells the story of our interconnected world. The tranquil valley of Porthcurno became the heart of communications when telegraph cables from all parts of the world came ashore at the cable hut on Porthcurno beach. Porthcurno Telegraph Station, or PK as it became known in telegraphic code, became the most important station in the world in the late Victorian era.
Telegraph operation ceased at Porthcurno in 1970, 100 years after it had started.
Dogs are welcome to the museum and cafe throughout the year. The only place dogs cannot visit is the WWII bunker, which is due to the sensitive nature of the equipment on display.
