About
Porthcurno Beach, in Cornwall, is a breathtaking destination known for its turquoise waters and soft white sands. It’s an ideal spot for a day out with your dog, offering plenty of activities and natural beauty. Here’s what you can expect when visiting Porthcurno Beach with your furry friend:
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs are welcome on Porthcurno Beach from September 1st to June 30th. However, during the summer months (1 July to 31 August), the beach bans dogs between 10 am and 6 pm.
Things To See & Do
Porthcurno Beach is a beautiful southeast-facing sandy beach in Porthcurno Bay. It is set in a sheltered cove flanked by rugged cliffs. The beach offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, and the clear, turquoise waters are mesmerising. You may have seen this beach before, as it is probably one of the most photographed Cornish beaches, although this does make it exceptionally busy in the summer.
This is a popular location, and we suggest visiting the Minack Theatre on the cliffs to the west, the PK Porthcurno museum and, if you have time, to the east, the dog-friendly Pedn Vounder Beach and the famous Logan Rock.
Access and Facilities
Facilities at the beach include a car park, toilets, cafe, and lifeguard patrols during the summer. The beach is accessed along a hard path through the trees from the car park.
