About
Pwllcrochan Beach is a hidden gem located in Pembrokeshire, Wales. This tranquil and secluded beach offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the coastline’s natural beauty with your dog. Here’s an overview of what to expect, including facilities and access details:
Dog Access and Rules
Although Pwllcrochan Beach is dog-friendly all year round, the access and tide restrictions make it a stop-off whilst walking the Pembrokeshire coast path rather than a trip to the beach.
Things To See & Do
Pwllcrochan beach is a dark sandy beach with rocks that disappear at high tide. At lower tide levels, you have lots of beach to explore, and plenty of room for your dog to run around. The sea constantly batters the rocks and cliffs, so caution should be taken when exploring this remote bay.
All along this stretch of the Pembrokeshire coast, the remote coves provide ideal locations for seals.
Access and Facilities
The beach has no facilities, and access is on foot from the coastal path down a steep, tricky path. The beach disappears at higher tides; care must be taken to ensure you are not cut off when the tide comes in.
The best parking options are on the roadside at Abermawr Beach to the south or at Pwll Deri to the north.
