About
The Minack Theatre, located in Porthcurno, Cornwall, is one of the most spectacular open-air theatres in the world. Perched on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it offers breathtaking views and a unique cultural experience. Hereโs what you can expect when visiting The Minack Theatre with your dog:
Dog Access and Rules
Dogs on leads are welcome at The Minack Theatre outside of performance times. This means you can explore the theatre and its surroundings with your dog during the day when no shows are scheduled.
Things To See & Do
The Minack Theatre is a unique, open-air venue on the side of a cliff. Rowena Cade created it and spent a lifetime designing and building the structures you see today.
The theatreโs location on the cliffs provides stunning ocean and coastline views, a fantastic spot for photography and enjoying the area’s natural beauty.
The Minack Theatre is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens with various plants that thrive in this exposed coastal environment. These gardens are a delight to explore and add to the venue’s scenic charm.
After visiting the theatre, consider heading down to the nearby Porthcurno Beach (seasonal restrictions) or the dog-friendly Pedn Vounder Beach. You can take the steep steps down to Porthcurno or drive whatever best suits your fitness. These beaches offer more beautiful scenery and space for your dog to play and explore.
Access and Facilities
The Minack Theatre has a car park, toilets, and a cafe that serves a range of refreshments. While dogs are not allowed inside the cafe, there is outdoor seating where you can sit with your dog and enjoy a drink or a snack
You also have a gift shop for souvenirs and gifts related to The Minack Theatre and its history.
