About
Visiting Aberavon Beach with your dog can be a fantastic outing, especially if you enjoy long walks along the coast. The beach is located in Port Talbot in South Wales and is known for its long sandy beach, making it a popular destination.
Dog Access and Rules
From May 1st to September 30th, dogs are not allowed on the main length of Aberavon Beach and promenade. During this restricted period, dogs are allowed on the eastern end of the beach, near the River Afan, where you can still enjoy a good stretch of sand and water.
Things To See & Do
Aberavon Beach offers a wide, three-mile-long sandy beach that is perfect for walking, running, and playing with your dog. The beach provides plenty of space for dogs to run freely and enjoy the sand.
Alongside the beach, there is a wide promenade that spans the town stretch of the beach which roughly corresponds with the seasonal restriction zone. This is suitable for dog walking, cycling, and skating. Along the promenade, you’ll find benches where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views of Swansea Bay.
Access and Facilities
Aberavon Beach is well-equipped with various facilities including cafes, restaurants, and ice cream shops where you can grab a bite to eat or a drink. Public toilets are also available along the promenade.
There is ample parking available near the beach, with several access points along the promenade.
